Module 3

Using Google Docs

To be honest until reviewing and completing Module 3 I did not know that Google Docs existed. It definitely reduces the need to manage various versions of ONE documents and reduce email management time.

A great way to share and collaborate over study notes and class content - once HSC trials are overs. Will arrange for my Year 12 Geography class to use Google Docs to collaborate their study notes. it also seems very simple to use and access. The notes in Atomic Learning were very straight forward and easy to follow.

It would even be suitable for junior classes. My Year 8 History class are learning how to draft the perfect PEEL response when using both a source and their own knowledge... good tool to generate a response as a class, where all are involved in editing (collaborating).

I spoke to my Mum about Google Docs and she said the corporate use it quite frequently for presentations to clients and business partners. It appears that this tool is very effective for both teaching and other professions as well.

  1. Hi Kimberley,

Couldn't agree more. I think any collaboration tools like this, or wikis, are great for the students as they can share ideas, correct mistakes, learn from each other etc. The idea of using it for PEEL is a great one. It can also be used by teachers who are working on the same project - rather than sending a variety of emails back and forth.
